KEOKON IS CANCELLED!
MARCH 27-28, 2026 KEOKUK, IOWA

I am very sorry to announce that Keokon60 is cancelled. I have suffered several health issues over the past few months and that has left me without the fortitude to see this through to it's conclusion.
I appreciate everyone's support and thank you for all your enthusiastic kind words! I especially thank Bree Moore and Celia Malm as well as Ray Davis and the good folks at FallCon. I have learned a lot from working with these people and if I ever attempt this again (highly unlikely) I will be better able to manage it.
I will be refunding everybody's money for vendor fees this week that have been paid.
Thanks again and God bless you all!
Per A. Malm
BUT FIRST, A COUPLE OF FAQS!
WHY 60? 1966 was such an auspicious year for science fiction, fantasy and adventure, especially on television. Look at this line up! Star Trek, Batman, Dark Shadows, The Green Hornet, Mission: Impossible, The Time Tunnel, Ultraman, The Rat Patrol. On the big screen we had Fantastic Voyage, Munster Go Home!, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, Jesse James meets Frankenstein's Daughter, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, War of the Gargantuas, and Women of the Prehistoric Planet. This was the year Dune and This Immortal TIED for the the Hugo Award. Other Hugo winners were "Repent, Harlequin!" said the Ticktockman," the Foundation series, and artist Frank Frazetta. The bookstores also welcomed Flowers for Algernon, Make Room! Make Room! (Soylent Green anybody?), The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, LeGuin's Planet of Exile, Lloyd Alexander's The Castle of Llyr, and Eyes of the Overworld by Jack Vance. 1966 is also the year when fan guest of honor Per Malm was born. Truly a year to celebrate!
WHY FREE? Per Malm has received a lot of support from fellow fans and the community over the years. This is his way of saying THANK YOU and giving back for all the kindness he has been shown. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
